Firm Element Continuing Education

NASD Rule 1120 requires each broker/dealer to develop and implement a continuing education program for covered registered persons that is designed to enhance their securities knowledge, skill and professionalism. “Covered registered persons” generally includes any registered persons that have direct contact with customers, research analysts and immediate supervisors of such persons.

Each firm is required annually to conduct a Needs Analysis and use the information collected during the Needs Analysis to develop a Written Training Plan for delivery of the firm’s continuing education program. At BDCA, we have skilled consultants who can design and implement a continuing education program that will provide meaningful training to your covered registered persons. We will design your firm’s continuing education program based on the types of business your firm conducts and the needs of your covered registered persons.

Delivery of the program can be accomplished through our Virtual University Online Training. The training modules offered through our Virtual University cover a wide variety of securities related topics and satisfy all of the conditions for fulfillment of the training portion of the FINRA Firm Element Continuing Education requirements. Your registered representatives can take courses online at their convenience and completion of the courses is tracked and documented.

As an alternative, we can also either design training modules for your firm or help you find outside vendors that will accomplish the objectives of your firm’s Needs Analysis and Written Training Plan. Our goal is to make sure that your training needs required by NASD Rule 1120 are met and that the training provided is convenient, meaningful, and cost efficient.
